It’s summertime in Atlanta, y’all. The sweltering sun beating on you at a Braves game, the sound of thumbs furiously texting old friends who have houses on Lake Lanier, and the quaint game of “fireworks or gunshots?” on the Fourth of July.

But actually, the ATL does this season extremely well. From festivals to bar crawls, hiking and boating, wineries and breweries, and that insanely long concrete path affectionately known as the Beltline, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better city to spend your summer in. It’s like everyday a new restaurant pops up, with Instagramable dishes and frosé on tap. And for this shameless foodie, there’s no sweeter sight than a new place to eat. Which is exactly why I’ve put together a list of my top NEW eats in Atlanta this summer! Now let’s dig in.

Pancake Social. Few things go together quite like long summer nights and lazy summer mornings. And lazy mornings call for yummy, carb-heavy breakfasts with your best friends. Look no further than Ponce City Market’s new darling, Pancake Social. Boasting a menu of pancakes, waffles, sammies, and bowls, there is something for everyone: even a gluten-free stack! Be prepared to wait in line, but the wait is totally worth it. Most importantly, you can get breakfast ALL DAY, which makes it an automatic win in my book. Website | Instagram

Busy’s. To be honest, I’m not sure when this gem popped up, but in true millennial fashion, I spotted it first on Instagram. Shave ice is the perfect treat for summer because it’s cold, tasty, and how many calories could it be? I mean, you’re literally eating ice. They’ve got an insane amount of flavors, as well as a selection of smoothies, and even a menu for dogs! To top it all of, it’s in an adorable little airstream parked right outside Piedmont Park. Little Rey. The newest brainchild from Atlanta’s culinary genius, Ford Fry, makes all your Tex-Mex dreams come true. With an affordable menu and quick counter service, it’s everything you’ve ever wanted in a lunch spot. And don’t forget their drink window, making ordering margaritas a breeze. They even have breakfast tacos, need I say more? I highly recommend a side of esquites, and while I’m not fully confident on what it is exactly, it’s reminiscent of street corn and is really heckin’ delicious. Website | Instagram

Hell Yeah Gluten Free. As many of you know, I experienced quite the plot twist in November when I was diagnosed with celiac disease. While my food pyramid previously consisted mostly of cupcakes, this news was, quite frankly, devastating. Enter HYGF, a pop-up turning brick-and-mortar slinging the most heavenly baked goods— 100% gluten-free. I’ve tried their donuts, cinnamon rolls, and life-changing focaccia, and for the first time ever, I’m really not missing flour. My photo doesn’t do Alejandra’s creations justice, so definitely browse through their feed for a glimpse at these gorgeous treats. They’ll be opening the doors to their new spot very soon! Instagram
