With football season, cozy sweaters, pumpkin bread, and Halloween, there’s no doubting fall is my favorite time of year! However, after months of easy, breezy summer clothes, it can be challenging to make the switch. One of my favorite warm weather outfit staples is definitely a romper— mostly because it’s the ultimate lazy girl hack for looking cute and put together, while staying super comfy. But just because the season’s changing doesn’t mean you’ve gotta hang yours back up yet. Here are some simple tricks to styling your summer wardrobe for the ~spookier~ months.

  1. Add some outerwear. Even if the temperatures haven’t dropped yet, a light jacket is the perfect way to wear your favorite romper into the fall. Camo is still super on trend and the dark green and brown shades are reminiscent of all the crunchy leaves we’re gonna get to step on this season!
  2. Pair it with some dark accessories. I don’t know about y’all, but during spring and summer I’m all about pops of bright colors, like yellow and hot pink. Don’t get me wrong; I flaunt those all twelve months, but these black statement earrings helped set the autumn mood.
  3. Switch out your sandals. I may not be ready for boots, but these platform Superga sneakers are a great in-between. They also give me a bit of extra height without having to deal with heels, which is much needed at 5’3!
  4. Warm up your makeup. It’s the perfect time to bring out the toasty brown eyeshadows and, of course, plenty of bronzer to keep that summer glow going all year long.
